2016 Race Season Hotsheet

Summer is getting underway and the events are stacking up like cord wood. Get ready to heat things up with race events from now until the snow flies again.
Summer 2016: Lake Superior Gravity Series & Marquette Gravity Sessions — gravity fueled races from enduro to downhill, even using chairlifts from time to time
June 18: Keweenaw Tread Fest, Houghton — cross country races on the Michigan Tech Trails, youth races start at 10am, short and long races start at 12 noon.
June 24-26: Marquette Trails Fest, Marquette — cross country, gravity events and youth events, even a movie night on Friday featuring Anthill Films new release “Not 2 Bad”
July 16: Red Earth Classic, Negaunee — three cross country races, youth events, pre-registration party Friday evening and a blast of an after-party on Saturday
July 23: Miner’s Revenge, Greenland — taking mountain bike racing underground, featuring a section of trail trough Adventure Mine, lights required, short and long race, plus gravity event
August 13: Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic, Marquette County — biggest race in the Upper Peninsula, 48, 28 and 10 mile events, youth events, race expo
August 20: Great Deer Chase, Calumet — long and short cross country on the Swedetown Trails, great for beginners looking to test there skill, youth races
September 3-4, Copper Harbor Trails Festival, Copper Harbor — enduro races, cross country races, youth events, great post-race party, close out summer at the Harbor
September 24: Marji Gesick, Marquette County — 100-mile and 50-mile self supported test of endurance, starting near the shore of Lake Superior and ending on Jasper Knob in Ishpeming
October 2: Marquette Mountain Bike Enduro, Marquette — final enduro race of the Lake Superior Gravity Series, open and sport class, preceded by the Night Stage of the Marquette Gravity Sessions
Sept. – December: UPCROSS Cyclocross Series, Marquette and Keweenaw Counties — multi-venues, point series, men’s & women’s class broken down into skill levels
Don’t leave so fast, winter will bring back snow biking and the primier snow bike event in the Upper Peninsula is the 906 Polar Roll. Details to come soon.
